Police Ladies forward Fidaus Yakubu has laid down a firm marker for a return to the senior women’s national team, declaring that her current form warrants a spot in the Black Queens set-up.

The versatile attacker, who can operate effectively across the frontline and in midfield, believes her proven track record and ongoing domestic exploits make her an indispensable asset for the national team selectors.

Yakubu was previously a feature in the national team under former head coach Nora Hauptle, notably making her mark during Ghana’s 2024 Olympic qualifying campaign against Zambia.

Despite her temporary absence from recent squads, the attacker insists she remains unfazed and deeply optimistic about her prospects of donning the national jersey once again.

Speaking on her national team ambitions, Yakubu reiterated that she has already demonstrated her quality at the highest level, having previously scored goals and delivered decisive performances for her country.

She added that her appetite to represent Ghana remains as strong as ever, and she continues to work tirelessly to earn that coveted invitation.

Her bold assertion comes on the back of a remarkable spell of form in the Ghana Women’s Premier League.

Following a brief stint abroad with Kazakhstani outfit BIIK Kazygurt, Yakubu returned to the domestic scene to sign for Police Ladies, where she has swiftly re-established herself as one of the most dominant players in the top flight.
