Kotoko Told To Dump Foreign Coaches For Maxwell Konadu

According to a report by KessbenTV, on Tuesday November 3, 2026, Veteran sports broadcaster Lovin Cee has called on the Board of Directors of Asante Kotoko to consider appointing a local coach, specifically Maxwell Konadu, as interim head coach for the remainder of the ongoing football season.

Speaking on Kessben Sports, Lovin Cee argued that the Porcupine Warriors should look within the Ghanaian coaching fraternity for a suitable candidate to take charge of the team rather than rushing into another coaching appointment.

He believes Maxwell Konadu would be a strong option to lead the Kumasi-based club during this period, given his previous experience with the team and familiarity with the demands and expectations associated with managing one of Ghana's biggest football clubs.

According to the veteran broadcaster, appointing Konadu on an interim basis could provide the club with the stability and direction needed to navigate the remainder of the season while the management assesses its long-term coaching plans.

Maxwell Konadu is no stranger to Asante Kotoko, having previously served as head coach of the club. His experience in Ghanaian football and knowledge of the Porcupine Warriors' environment could make him a suitable candidate for the proposed temporary position.

Lovin Cee's recommendation comes amid discussions about the technical direction of the club, with supporters and football observers keen to see the management make decisions that will restore consistency and strengthen the team's performances.

The broadcaster's suggestion also highlights the growing argument for Ghanaian coaches to be given opportunities to handle major assignments at the country's top football clubs.

While his proposal remains a recommendation to the Kotoko leadership, Lovin Cee believes appointing Maxwell Konadu as interim coach until the end of the season could be a practical move for the Porcupine Warriors.

The Kotoko Board of Directors will ultimately have to determine the best technical direction for the club as it seeks to meet its ambitions and satisfy its demanding supporters.
