Newcastle United are continuing to monitor AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori as they consider defensive reinforcements in future transfer windows.
According to Football Insider, the Premier League club still regard the 28-year-old as one of their targets, having previously been linked with the defender during last summer’s transfer window.
Tomori, an England international of Nigerian heritage and a former Chelsea player, could leave AC Milan at the end of the season. His contract with the Rossoneri runs until June 2027, but uncertainty remains over his long-term future at the Italian club.
Several Premier League sides are understood to be monitoring his situation with a view to potentially signing him as a free agent. If Tomori does become available without a transfer fee in the summer of 2027, Newcastle are expected to face significant competition.
The defender is valued at €10m by Transfermarkt. He played 37 matches in all competitions during the previous campaign, but has found regular first-team football harder to secure since the start of the current season.
Tomori recently returned to AC Milan’s starting line-up for their UEFA Europa League match against Red Bull Salzburg. However, he has yet to establish himself as a consistent member of the side.
Newcastle could look to take advantage of his contractual position by negotiating a move for a reduced fee before the expiry of his deal. The club’s interest, however, remains part of a wider monitoring process rather than a confirmed transfer approach.
AC Milan are also due to face Bournemouth in the third matchday of the UEFA Europa League league phase.
