Karela United coach Nurudeen Amadu has blamed poor officiating for his side’s struggles away from home as they prepare to face Swedru All Blacks in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Pride and Passion lads travel to the Swedru Sports Stadium for their matchweek seven encounter seeking their first away point of the 2026/27 campaign after losing all three of their previous road fixtures.
Amadu believes officiating decisions have contributed to his team’s difficulties on the road, insisting his players often struggle to recover when they feel disadvantaged.
“In the other matches we have played, apart from maybe the Samartex game, I would say the officiating was not good enough,” he said.
“Just as we win at home and they always try to officiate in favour of the home team, we expect the same outside our home.”
He added that such experiences affect the players’ confidence and mentality during away matches.
“But any time the officiating is not good enough, the boys get demoralised, and that's what we have to overcome,” Amadu said.
Karela face a difficult assignment against an All Blacks side buoyed by a dramatic stoppage-time victory over Asante Kotoko last weekend.
The hosts have lost just once in their last 18 league matches at the Swedru Sports Stadium, while Karela have gone eight consecutive away league matches without a win.
