Ghanaian youngster Kelvin Frimpong was on target as Viking FK U19 delivered a commanding 5-0 victory over Sabah U19 in their UEFA Youth League Round 4 encounter.
The 18-year-old forward played a key role in the Norwegian side’s emphatic performance, scoring just six minutes into the game to put Viking firmly in control.
After Jacob Nordbo Middelthon had opened the scoring in the third minute, assisted by N. Al-Mabhouh, Frimpong doubled the hosts’ advantage three minutes later.
The Ghanaian attacker showed impressive movement and composure to connect with another well-delivered assist from Al-Mabhouh before calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.
His early contribution dealt a major blow to Sabah’s hopes, as Viking maintained their attacking intensity throughout the first half.
Henrik Kvelstad extended the advantage with a brace, including a 40th-minute penalty, to send the hosts into the break with a commanding lead.
Max Hagen then completed the scoring shortly after the restart, sealing an emphatic 5-0 victory for the Norwegian side.
For Frimpong, the goal represents another encouraging moment in his development, as the young Ghanaian continues to make his mark in European youth football.
His early strike helped set the tone for Viking’s dominant display and further underlined his potential as an emerging attacking talent on the continental stage.
