Donnarumma Under Fire as Manchester City Fans React to Dramatic Leipzig Victory

Manchester City secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig in the Champions League, According to a report by MAN CITY FANS on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, thanks to a late winner from Erling Haaland. However, despite claiming all three points, the performance left several supporters frustrated, with Gianluigi Donnarumma's display, defensive weaknesses and Enzo Maresca's tactics attracting criticism.

City travelled to Germany hoping to respond positively after disappointing Premier League defeats against Aston Villa and Brighton. However, they struggled to control the game as Leipzig created several dangerous opportunities, particularly through Antonio Nusa.

The visitors took the lead in the 37th minute when Castello Lukeba accidentally turned Nico O'Reilly's delivery into his own net. Leipzig equalised shortly after the break through Ridle Baku, whose low effort caught Donnarumma out of position.

Enzo Fernández restored City's advantage after receiving an excellent pass from Iliman Ndiaye, but Nusa brought Leipzig level again. Haaland eventually secured the victory in the 78th minute, converting Elliot Anderson's dangerous delivery from close range.

Following the match, several City supporters took to X to celebrate Haaland's contribution. One fan wrote, "Haaland has rescued us once again," while another simply reacted: "Result thankfully."

However, Donnarumma received considerable criticism for his performance, particularly his positioning during Leipzig's first equaliser. Some supporters expressed concern about what they considered a worrying decline in his recent form.

Anderson, on the other hand, earned widespread praise for his energy and contribution to the winning goal. One supporter even described him as City's man of the match.

Maresca also faced criticism, with some fans questioning his tactical decisions, team selection and the use of players in unfamiliar positions.

Although the victory represents an important result for Manchester City, the supporters' reactions suggest that winning alone is not enough. City will need to improve their defensive organisation, consistency and overall performance if they hope to compete for major European honours.
