Black Maidens aim to revive World Cup hopes against Brazil

Ghana’s Black Maidens will look to recover from their opening defeat at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup when they face Brazil in Group C on Wednesday, October 21.

The match will be played at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Morocco and will begin at 18:00 GMT, with Ghana needing a positive result to keep their campaign on course.

Coach Joe Nana Adarkwa’s team began the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Norway. That result leaves Ghana third in the group without a point, while Brazil lead the standings after beating Canada.

The meeting with the South Americans gives the Black Maidens an immediate opportunity to respond to their opening setback and restore momentum to their World Cup campaign.

A result against Brazil would also strengthen Ghana’s position before their final Group C match against Canada on Saturday, October 24. The team will be seeking to turn their performance into points and move back into contention.
