2026 GHASALC Games: Savings and Loans Workers Gear Up for Annual Sports Fiesta

Financial sector workers from savings and loans companies across Ghana are set to converge at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on October 24, 2026, for the sixth edition of the Ghana Association of Savings and Loans Companies (GHASALC) Annual Games.

With the sixth edition scheduled for October 24 at the El-Wak Sports Stadium, participating institutions are expected to bring their competitive spirit to the field as they battle for honours across the various disciplines.

The one-day sporting event is expected to bring together employees of member institutions for a day of competition, networking, team building and recreation, as participants temporarily trade their corporate suits and ties for sporting gear.

Speaking at the launch of the games in Accra, Chief Executive Officer of GHASALC, Tweneboah Kodua Boakye (Esq), said the sixth edition promises to be more exciting and entertaining, with a range of sporting and recreational activities designed to promote camaraderie among workers in the financial services industry.

According to him, the annual games reflect the association’s commitment to promoting teamwork, collaboration and a healthy working environment among its member institutions.

This year’s competition will feature several sporting and recreational disciplines, including football, volleyball, sack race, scrabble, oware, draft, the 100-metre dash and the Jama competition.

The diverse range of activities is expected to provide opportunities for employees with different interests and abilities to participate, while encouraging friendly rivalry among the competing institutions.

Beyond the medals and trophies, the games are also expected to serve as a platform for employees of participating savings and loans companies to interact, strengthen professional relationships and exchange ideas outside their usual workplace settings.

Member of the Operations Team at ABii National Savings and Loans, Frank Williams, also expressed confidence in his institution’s readiness for the competition, assuring that his team would be aiming to win this year’s tournament.
