Frosinone Calcio climbed to fourth place in the Italian Serie A standings after securing a 4-2 victory against Sassuolo Calcio on the seventh matchday. The home side capitalized on an attacking masterclass from Antonio Raimondo, who netted a hat-trick to propel the club to its fourth win of the season.

Raimondo leads the scoring charts as goals flow

The hosts started brightly when Giacomo Calò opened the scoring after nine minutes, though Sassuolo responded swiftly through Domenico Berardi just six minutes later. Antonio Raimondo then seized control of the fixture, scoring twice within a four-minute window in the 26th and 30th minutes to establish a 3-1 advantage for Frosinone. Kristian Thorstvedt kept the visitors within striking distance by converting in the 37th minute to make it 3-2 at halftime.

Any hopes of a Sassuolo comeback evaporated after the break when Raimondo struck again following a corner kick in the 57th minute. That third goal brought the 22-year-old striker’s season tally to seven goals, moving him to the summit of the Serie A goalscoring charts. Frosinone managed the remainder of the contest to seal the 4-2 scoreline.

Romano Schmid plays full match amid ongoing squad adjustments

Romano Schmid featured for the entirety of the 90 minutes for the hosts. While Schmid continued his run in the starting lineup, Frosinone remained without Florian Grillitsch, who missed the fixture due to an injury.

Standings impact sees Frosinone rise

The three points lift Frosinone to 13 points after seven matches, securing a strong fourth place in the early-season league table. Sassuolo dropped to 11th position with eight points following the away defeat.
