AIK chief scout Herish Sadi arrives in Accra for One World Sports Management’s West Africa Talent Hunt tournament

The chief football scout at Swedish football side AIK, Herish Sadi, has arrived in Accra for the West Africa Ralent Hunt tournament.

Sadi arrives in Ghana for the three-day football tournament put together by One World Sports Management to unearth talent from the western side of the continent.

The 37-year-old was the scout behind the discovery of Brighton and Hove Albion forward Zadok Yohanna, taking him from Nigeria to AIK in Sweden.

The idea behind Sadi’s arrival in Ghana is to watch and identify talented players who are capable of making the jump from Africa to Europe, with the scout working together with the administrators of One World Sports Management.

Speaking following his arrival in Ghana, Sadi asked young players to always be ready for the next step, as there are several opportunities.

“You need to always be on your toes because you never know when it’s going to happen; people’s lives change overnight,” he said.

“You need to be sharp, be on your toes to do your bets all the time, and hopefully that is enough for somebody to recognise you and make the change that you want.

“You need to relax, enjoy the game, be proud and fight for what you want.”

Six teams are involved in this year’s West Africa Talent Hunt tournament, including Great Somas, Nice Ibrahim, Visio FC, Liberty Academy, Exulted FC and Sakibatti.

The final day of the tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21.
