According to a report by Football London on Sunday, October 18, 2026, Pedro Neto has praised Moises Caicedo following Chelsea’s 2-0 Premier League victory over Everton, with the winger reacting to the midfielder’s Instagram post after their impressive performance at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Neto responded with "no words" to a picture Caicedo shared on Instagram after Chelsea recorded their second consecutive league victory under manager Xabi Alonso.
Neto was Chelsea’s standout performer against Everton, scoring both goals to help the Blues move up to fourth place in the Premier League table. However, Caicedo also played a significant role in the victory, helping the team secure their first Premier League clean sheet of the season.
The result represented an improvement for Alonso’s side, who had experienced defensive difficulties before the Ecuador international returned to the starting line-up.
Caicedo captained Chelsea in the absence of Reece James, who is expected to spend around three months on the sidelines following knee surgery. His leadership and influence in midfield have helped the team maintain control of matches and provide greater protection for the defence.
Despite his impressive display, Sofascore statistics showed that Caicedo did not complete a single successful tackle against Everton and recorded only two defensive actions.
Nevertheless, his contribution went beyond traditional defensive statistics. His positioning, awareness and ability to close down spaces helped limit Everton’s attacking opportunities and made it difficult for their players to progress through midfield.
After the match, Caicedo shared a picture of himself leading Chelsea onto the pitch, prompting Neto to respond: “no words”.
With James unavailable, Caicedo could continue wearing the captain’s armband, although experienced midfielder Jordan Henderson is another option because of his previous leadership experience at Liverpool.
Chelsea will hope Caicedo’s defensive discipline and Henderson’s experience can help the team maintain their recent improvement and achieve greater consistency throughout the campaign.
