Real Madrid 17year old academy talent earns comparisons to Bernardo Silva

Real Madrid are continuing their investment in promising young players at their Valdebebas academy, with 17 year old midfielder Marco Company emerging as one of the standout prospects following his impressive performances this season.

According to a report by Madrid Universal on Saturday, November 7, 2026, the youngster has attracted attention with his performances for Real Madrid’s Juvenil A team, where his technical qualities and style of play have drawn comparisons with Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Company joined Real Madrid from Valencia in 2023 after attracting interest from several prominent Spanish clubs, including Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Despite competition from their domestic rivals, he opted to continue his development at Valdebebas.

Although he made his Juvenil A debut last season, the current campaign has seen him make considerable progress. He has become the second-most-used midfielder in the squad, behind Cherif Fofana, highlighting the confidence the coaching staff have placed in him.

His contribution has also been reflected in his statistics. The 17 year old has registered three goals and five assists in just 485 minutes across La Liga and the UEFA Youth League.

Real Madrid’s youth team have also enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign, winning all four of their UEFA Youth League group stage matches while recording seven victories and one draw in their opening eight league fixtures.

Company’s development has also led to changing comparisons regarding his playing style. He was previously likened to Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino because of his intelligent movement and ability to arrive in dangerous attacking positions.

However, observers at Valdebebas increasingly see similarities between his game and those of Bernardo Silva and Paris Saint Germain midfielder Vitinha.

The comparison with Silva is particularly interesting because of the Manchester City star’s close ball control, creativity, technical ability and intelligence when operating under pressure. Company has demonstrated some similar qualities, although he still has considerable development ahead before reaching the level of an established senior player.

Real Madrid’s confidence in his potential is evident in the reported €100 million release clause included in his contract in February, a move designed to protect one of the academy’s highly rated prospects.

The upcoming Under17 World Cup could provide another opportunity for Company to demonstrate his ability. With several Juvenil A players expected to miss around a month because of international commitments, the teenager could assume greater responsibility and further establish himself within the team.
