According to a report by Barca Universal on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Barcelona midfielder Gavi has sent a heartfelt message to Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following the Georgian international’s reported serious knee injury.
Kvaratskhelia is expected to spend an extended period on the sidelines after reportedly tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during PSG’s Champions League clash with Barcelona, which the French champions won 4-2.
The injury is a major setback for the winger, who has become an important part of Luis Enrique’s attacking setup.
Speaking to DAZN Fútbol, Gavi expressed his sympathy for the PSG star and offered words of encouragement as he prepares to begin his recovery.
“I send him my best wishes. He’ll come back stronger,” the Barcelona midfielder said.
Gavi also spoke highly of Kvaratskhelia’s ability, praising his talent and insisting that the Georgian deserves to be recognised among the best players in world football.
“He’s a player I absolutely love. I’d be very happy if he finished in the top five of the Ballon d’Or. He deserves to be there,” Gavi added.
The Barcelona midfielder’s remarks highlight the respect Kvaratskhelia has earned across European football, including among players who face him on the pitch.
Renowned for his close control, explosive dribbling and creativity in the final third, the Georgian winger has established himself as a dangerous attacking threat for PSG. His ability to beat defenders and create scoring opportunities makes him a valuable member of the squad, and his absence could be a significant loss for the French club.
Gavi’s message also carries added significance because the Barcelona midfielder has experienced the difficulties of recovering from a serious knee injury himself. His own ACL injury kept him out of competitive football for an extended period, giving him a personal understanding of the physical and mental challenges involved in rehabilitation.
Although recovery periods vary from player to player, Gavi’s experience makes his words particularly meaningful as Kvaratskhelia prepares for the difficult journey back to full fitness.
The injury could also affect the Georgian winger’s individual ambitions. Gavi believes Kvaratskhelia deserves to finish among the Ballon d’Or’s top five, but a lengthy spell on the sidelines could affect his chances of competing for major individual honours.
For PSG, the immediate priority will be supporting Kvaratskhelia throughout his recovery while finding ways to cope with the absence of one of their key attacking players.
