Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign Como defender Jacobo Ramon, while Liverpool are preparing to compete for Brighton centre-back Luka Vuskovic as both clubs plan recruitment for next summer.
According to a report by FootballTransfers on Sunday, November 8, 2026, United have been the “most persistent” club in their pursuit of Ramon. Chelsea and Liverpool are also monitoring the 21-year-old, whose performances have attracted Premier League interest.
The Spanish defender’s progress at Como has strengthened his reputation, and several English clubs could consider offers next summer. United currently appear to be showing the strongest interest, although their pursuit could be complicated by a contractual condition.
Real Madrid reportedly included a buy-back clause in Ramon’s contract and are keen to activate it to bring him back to the Santiago Bernabéu. That possibility could complicate negotiations for other clubs.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have identified Vuskovic as a potential addition to their defence. According to the Daily Briefing, the Merseyside club have been impressed by the Croatian teenager’s development and were surprised when Tottenham allowed him to join Brighton.
Despite his recent arrival at Brighton, speculation about another move has emerged. Liverpool are interested in securing his services, but any pursuit is likely to be expensive.
Brighton are understood to value the 19-year-old at more than €100 million. The Seagulls regard him as a major long-term investment after making him their club-record signing, meaning they are unlikely to accept a modest offer. Liverpool must weigh his potential against the likely fee.
Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde is another player whose future could attract Premier League interest next summer. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is reportedly exploring opportunities in England as the 22-year-old considers leaving Camp Nou after falling down the club’s pecking order.
Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester United have already expressed concrete interest and received information about the financial requirements of a possible transfer. Manchester City and Tottenham could also enter the race, depending on their activity during the January window.
United are also stepping up their pursuit of Leicester City youngster Louis Page after failing to reach an agreement during the previous summer transfer window. The 18-year-old England youth international has attracted growing interest, although United remain confident of winning the race for his signature.
Liverpool have joined the competition for Borussia Mönchengladbach attacker Wael Mohya. The 17-year-old has attracted attention after making an impression with his breakthrough performances in Germany, prompting leading clubs to monitor his progress.
Any deals will depend on club valuations, rival interest and the players’ decisions. The contrasting situations present different challenges. Ramon’s future may be shaped by Madrid’s contractual control, whereas Brighton’s valuation could determine whether Liverpool pursue Vuskovic. Balde’s reduced standing at Barcelona may create an opening for English clubs, while the younger Page and Mohya represent longer-term investments rather than established first-team solutions. These names give both clubs options to assess.
