According to a report by OwnGoalNigeria on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has set a new personal record in Turkish football after scoring in Bursaspor’s 4-2 victory over Keçiörengücü.
The Nigerian international continued his outstanding goalscoring form by finding the net for the 12th consecutive league appearance, extending the record he previously established after scoring in 11 successive matches.
Iheanacho scored in the 50th minute at Aktepe Stadium, restoring Bursaspor’s lead at 3-2 after an exciting first half in which both teams found the net twice.
Keçiörengücü initially went ahead in the seventh minute through an own goal by Emirhan Başyiğit. However, Amine Boutrah equalised for Bursaspor eight minutes later.
The hosts regained the advantage in the 35th minute when Lewis Baker scored, but Oğuzcan Çalışkan brought Bursaspor level again two minutes before the interval.
Five minutes after the restart, Iheanacho produced another important contribution by scoring to put Bursaspor ahead once more. Lincoln Henrique then added the fourth goal in the 66th minute, securing a 4-2 victory for the visitors.
According to the report, Iheanacho’s latest strike increased his tally to 16 goals in the Turkish second division this season. His remarkable consistency has also helped Bursaspor climb to the top of the league standings.
The former Leicester City and Celtic striker joined Bursaspor on a free transfer from Celtic during the summer. Since his arrival in Turkey, his impressive performances have helped revive his career and earned him a recall to the Nigerian national team.
Iheanacho also scored Nigeria’s opening goal in their 3-3 international friendly draw against Russia on October 6.
His consistent displays at club level have earned him a place in Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tanzania, as the Super Eagles continue their pursuit of qualification.
The Nigerian forward will now aim to maintain his impressive scoring form and extend his record as Bursaspor push for promotion back to Turkey’s top division.
