According to a report by Barca Universal on Monday, October 26, 2026, Barcelona are preparing to send three first-team players to London for the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, with Lamine Yamal, Rodri Hernandez and Joan Garcia expected to represent the club at the prestigious event.
Reports indicate that the delegation is scheduled to depart from Barcelona-El Prat Airport at 12:15 p.m. on Monday ahead of the ceremony at The London Palladium.
Yamal is expected to be one of the main attractions at the event after receiving nominations for both the Ballon d’Or and the Kopa Trophy. The young winger will be hoping to claim the Kopa Trophy for the third consecutive year, having won the award in 2024 and 2025.
Rodri is also among the 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or. The midfielder previously won the prestigious individual award in 2024 while playing for Manchester City, making his latest nomination another reason for Barcelona to follow the ceremony closely.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Joan Garcia has been nominated for the Yashin Trophy, which recognises the best goalkeeper in men's football. His inclusion follows an impressive first season at Barcelona, during which he won the Zamora Trophy.
However, the reported absence of Pau Cubarsi from the planned delegation has raised questions. The young defender has been nominated for both the Ballon d’Or and the Kopa Trophy, making his omission from the travel arrangements particularly noticeable.
The reason for Cubarsi’s reported absence has not been confirmed, although Barcelona could still adjust their plans before the delegation departs.
Barcelona will therefore have several reasons to follow the ceremony closely, with Yamal aiming to secure further individual recognition, Rodri competing for another Ballon d’Or and Garcia hoping to claim the Yashin Trophy.
