According to a report by Football Transfer on Friday, October 16, 2026, Jude Bellingham has reportedly agreed to a new five-year contract with Real Madrid following lengthy discussions with the club’s senior officials, extending his stay at the Santiago Bernabéu until 2031.
The England midfielder has established himself as one of football’s leading players since joining the Spanish giants. Reports indicate that Madrid have reached an agreement to keep the 23-year-old at the club for another five years.
Negotiations over the contract extension reportedly began towards the end of last season. Bellingham is also expected to receive a salary increase following his impressive World Cup campaign, during which he scored seven goals for England.
His performances helped the Three Lions achieve their best World Cup finish since 1966, further enhancing his importance to both club and country.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has also reported that Bellingham and Real Madrid have reached a verbal agreement over a long-term deal. However, formal steps remain outstanding, with the midfielder’s contract expected to follow agreements involving Arda Guler and Thibaut Courtois.
Bellingham has continued to contribute this season, recording three goals and three assists in 10 appearances across all competitions. His estimated transfer value currently stands at €139.5 million.
Several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United, have previously been linked with the England international. However, the reported agreement appears likely to end speculation about his potential departure from Madrid.
The Spanish club are expected to continue building their long-term plans around Bellingham, who remains a key figure in the squad.
Meanwhile, Vinicius Junior’s future is less certain. Despite signing a new contract in August, the Brazilian winger has endured a difficult start to the season, prompting questions about his long-term position at the club.
Reports suggest Madrid could consider selling Vinicius in 2027 while targeting Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise. Bellingham’s reported agreement, however, provides greater certainty over the future of one of the club’s most important players.
