Barcelona Midfielder Determined to Stay and Fight for Place as Agent Meets Deco

According to a report by Barca Universal on Friday, October 16, 2026, Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo has no intention of leaving the club despite reported interest from Bayern Munich, as the Spanish international remains focused on earning a more prominent role under manager Hansi Flick.

Olmo’s agent, Juanma Lopez, recently met with Barcelona sporting director Deco to discuss the midfielder’s current situation and clarify his future at the Catalan club.

Reports suggest that the meeting took place in Barcelona on Thursday, with both parties holding constructive discussions in a relaxed atmosphere. The main objective was to review Olmo’s position within the squad and prevent ongoing transfer speculation from creating unnecessary uncertainty about his future.

Bayern Munich are reportedly serious about their interest in the Spanish midfielder, with the German giants having monitored his situation for some time. However, no negotiations are currently taking place, and Barcelona consider his departure unlikely. The Catalan club would also demand a substantial transfer fee before considering any offer for the player.

Olmo, meanwhile, is determined to remain at Barcelona and establish himself as a key figure in Flick’s plans. Having left La Masia at a young age, the midfielder always dreamed of returning to the club he supported while growing up. He eventually fulfilled that ambition, with Deco playing an important role in bringing him back.

After spending years hoping for another opportunity to represent Barcelona, Olmo is unwilling to abandon his dream without fighting for his place. He wants to increase his influence within the squad and demonstrate that he deserves a more significant role in the team.

Although the midfielder would have preferred to receive more playing time during the early stages of the season, he remains committed to earning a regular starting position through his performances.

His meeting with Deco also provided an opportunity to discuss his involvement so far this campaign and the possibility of receiving more opportunities in the coming months. Barcelona’s sporting department reportedly reaffirmed its confidence in his abilities and his capacity to make a meaningful contribution to the team.

The club has encouraged Olmo to remain patient, believing that further opportunities will emerge as the season progresses and allow him to demonstrate his importance to the squad. Both sides are understood to be satisfied with the outcome of the meeting, easing concerns surrounding his future.

For now, Barcelona have no plans to sell the midfielder, while Olmo remains determined to fight for a more influential position rather than consider a move away from the club.
