Mohamed Salah has become the third player to record both a goal and an assist in all three major UEFA club competitions, joining Cody Gakpo and Mario Götze in an exclusive group, according to an X post by OneFootball on October 16, 2026.
The Egyptian international achieved the milestone during Trabzonspor’s 4-2 away win against Finnish side KuPS in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday. The 34-year-old assisted Paul Onuachu’s opening goal in the third minute before finding the back of the net himself in the 44th minute. These contributions completed his record of scoring and assisting in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo had previously accomplished the feat during his European career. The Dutch international registered goals and assists for PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League in November 2020 and October 2022. He had also achieved the same feat in the Conference League with the Dutch club earlier in 2022.
Gakpo subsequently recorded both a goal and an assist for Liverpool in a Europa League match in 2023. He completed the set in October 2025 when he assisted Virgil van Dijk before scoring himself during the Champions League league phase.
German midfielder Mario Götze also reached the milestone during his European career, including his time at PSV Eindhoven. The former Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich player featured in all three major UEFA club competitions and registered both goals and assists across the tournaments. His contributions in European football, including during PSV’s 2021/22 campaign, placed him alongside Gakpo before Salah joined the exclusive group.
Salah’s latest achievement adds another remarkable milestone to his career, highlighting his ability to make decisive contributions across Europe’s three major club competitions.
