According to a report by Chelsea FC on X on Saturday, October 17, 2026, Jordan Henderson believes Chelsea are developing stronger team unity following changes to their squad and coaching staff during the summer.
Henderson made the comments after Chelsea secured a 2-0 away victory over Everton, with Pedro Neto scoring twice in the second half. The result marked Chelsea’s second consecutive win and provided further encouragement as they work towards greater consistency this season.
The midfielder said Chelsea were determined to build on their previous result by producing another strong performance and securing all three points against Everton.
“Yeah, we wanted to back last week up by coming here and putting on a good performance and getting the win, which we did,” Henderson said.
Despite the recent victories, Henderson acknowledged that the team still had areas to improve. He believes Chelsea are moving in the right direction but must continue working hard to maintain their progress.
“I know we’ve still got a lot to improve on as a team, but I feel as though the last couple of weeks we’re going in the right direction,” he added.
Henderson also expressed his happiness at returning to action after recovering from injury. He described playing alongside Chelsea’s talented squad as a privilege and praised the quality within the team.
The midfielder highlighted the growing connection among the players, explaining that the squad’s togetherness was gradually improving.
He also acknowledged that the arrival of new players and changes to the coaching staff during the summer had required time for everyone to adjust.
However, Henderson believes those changes are beginning to produce positive results, with relationships improving both during training and away from the pitch.
The midfielder stressed that building a strong team spirit would be important as Chelsea continue their Premier League campaign. He also made it clear that he is enjoying his return to football and remains encouraged by the team’s recent progress.
