According to a report by GOAL on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has expressed concern after Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Marquinhos suffered injuries during their UEFA Champions League encounter against Barcelona.
PSG secured an impressive 4-2 victory over Barcelona, but the result was overshadowed by injuries to three important members of Enrique’s squad, raising concerns about their availability for upcoming matches.
Dembele was the first to leave the pitch after appearing to suffer a left-thigh injury in the 19th minute. The French forward was replaced by Ferran Torres, while Kvaratskhelia and captain Marquinhos also required medical attention during a difficult period for the visitors.
Kvaratskhelia’s injury appeared particularly concerning after the Georgian winger landed awkwardly following an aerial challenge. He required assistance from medical staff to leave the pitch, although the severity of the injury remains unclear. Reports suggesting a potentially serious knee injury have yet to be confirmed, pending further medical examinations.
Speaking after the match, Enrique admitted that the injuries had taken some of the excitement away from PSG’s victory.
“I am not the doctor. I am the coach,” he said, before describing the three injuries as “the worst part of the game today”.
The Spanish manager added that further medical assessments would provide a clearer picture of the players’ conditions.
PSG will be hoping the injuries are not serious as they prepare to face Lyon in Ligue 1 on October 25. Losing Dembele, Kvaratskhelia or Marquinhos for an extended period would be a significant setback for the French champions as they look to maintain their momentum in domestic and European competitions.
