Real Madrid Superstar Becomes Undroppable For Mourinho After Seven Wins in Seven Starts

According to a report by Madrid Universal on Monday, November 2, 2026, Yan Diomande is strengthening his case for a regular starting position at Real Madrid after producing a series of impressive performances under manager Jose Mourinho.

The 19 year old Ivory Coast international joined the Spanish giants during the summer and initially needed time to adjust to the demands of playing in La Liga. However, his recent performances have demonstrated his growing confidence and attacking quality, making him an increasingly important option in Mourinho's squad.

Diomande was particularly impressive during Real Madrid's emphatic victory over Racing Santander on Sunday, delivering another outstanding display that included a spectacular goal.

The quality of his strike attracted attention, with reported statistics indicating that the ball travelled at 120.2 kilometres per hour and recorded 3.3 revolutions per second after leaving his boot.

The goal was another example of his impressive finishing ability this season. He has also scored a powerful right-footed effort against Sevilla and produced an excellent volley during Real Madrid's victory over RB Leipzig earlier in the campaign.

The youngster has benefited from Vinicius Junior's absence, with the Brazilian serving a four-match suspension in La Liga. Diomande has taken advantage of the opportunity on the left wing, helping Madrid maintain an unbeaten winning record in matches he has started.

Across 14 appearances in all competitions, the teenager has registered four goals and four assists, highlighting his growing influence in the final third.

His contribution has become even more noticeable since the international break. Diomande has recorded six direct goal contributions and completed 34 dribbles during that period, with only teammate Kylian Mbappe managing more. The French forward is ahead of him by just five successful dribbles.

Beyond his attacking qualities, Mourinho is reportedly impressed by the teenager's commitment to defensive responsibilities. Diomande regularly tracks back, supports his teammates and contributes to the team's overall structure.

Mourinho's decision to introduce him gradually into the first team appears to be paying off, as the youngster continues to develop and establish himself.

However, his excellent form could create a selection dilemma when Vinicius returns. Mourinho will have to decide whether Diomande has done enough to retain his place in the starting eleven or whether the Brazilian should immediately return to the left-wing position.
