Murang’a Seal head coach Dennis Odhiambo insists his side has rectified their mistakes from their opening day defeat and are ready to take on Posta Rangers on Sunday.
Murang’a are looking to bounce back from an opening day SportPesa League loss to Gor Mahia.
Murang’a went down 4-2 to Gor in a thrilling opening round fixture and can make home advantage count in round two.
Ahead of the scheduled 3pm kick off on Sunday, the Murang’a coach stated that he noted the defensive vulnerabilities against Gor that saw his side concede four goals.
“We know what went wrong in the first match. It’s never good to concede four goals and we know the negative things we did in the game.
“What is important is that we have worked on them in training and we are focused on the Posta game,” the former Murang’a player turned manager stated.
Posta are also searching for their first points of the new SportPesa League campaign after a slim 1-0 home loss to Shabana.
The hosts showed their ability to score against tough opposition in the record league champions Gor, but will have to be solid defensively if they are to get all three points.
“I don’t believe that changing the line-up is what is necessary at this point. Yes, conceding four was not good but there were plenty of positives as well.
“We have a good and capable squad. This game will be different, and we believe we can implement what we have worked on and get a good result,” he added.
Murang’a managed to avoid defeat against Posta last season, coming from behind late to earn a point in a thrilling 2-2 first leg encounter.
Jackson Imbiakha then scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory at the SportPesa Arena in the return leg.
Posta have their own axe to grind and are desperate to register their first points on the board after the defeat to Shabana.
