Shabana FC Records KSh175,400 Gate Collection at Afraha Stadium Against Migori Youth

Shabana FC recorded a gross gate collection of KSh175,400 following their 1-1 draw against Migori Youth FC in a Kenyan Premier League match played at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

The collection ranks among the club's lowest earnings from a home fixture, raising questions about match day attendance and the financial implications of playing away from their traditional home ground.

Shabana, popularly known as Tore Bobe, traditionally hosts its home matches at Gusii Stadium in Kisii County. However, the club has been forced to relocate its home fixtures to Afraha Stadium as Gusii Stadium undergoes upgrading works.

The temporary move has seen the Kisii-based side stage matches in Nakuru, a change that may affect the team's connection with its loyal supporters, particularly those who regularly travel to Gusii Stadium to watch the club in action.

Shabana enjoys a passionate following in the Gusii region, where its matches often attract enthusiastic supporters. Playing in Nakuru could present additional transport and logistical challenges for fans wishing to attend home games.

The KSh175,400 collection from the Migori Youth encounter highlights the financial importance of attendance at football matches, with gate receipts forming part of the revenue clubs depend on to meet operational expenses.

The 1-1 result also meant Shabana and Migori Youth shared the points in the league contest.

As renovation works continue at Gusii Stadium, Shabana will have to make the most of its temporary home at Afraha Stadium while hoping for a return to Kisii once the facility is ready.

A return to Gusii Stadium could help restore the familiar home atmosphere and make it easier for local supporters to attend matches.
