Paris Saint-Germain climbed to the top of Ligue 1 on Monday after goals from S. Mayulu and M. Godts secured a 2-0 victory over Olympique Lyonnais.
The result took PSG to 17 points from eight matches, moving them one point clear of Rennes, who sit second on 16 points.
Lyon remained fifth with 14 points following their second league defeat of the season.
After a goalless first half, Mayulu broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute to give the hosts the lead.
Godts then struck in the 84th minute to seal the victory and ensure PSG collected their fifth win of the campaign.
The three points strengthened PSG's position in a closely contested title race.
Rennes are their nearest challengers, while Lille and Monaco are level on 15 points, leaving four teams separated by just two points at the top of the standings.
Lyon, meanwhile, missed the opportunity to close the gap on the league leaders.
They have won four, drawn two and lost two of their eight matches, leaving them three points behind PSG.
The victory also extended PSG's recent run of strong league results. Having lost once in their opening eight fixtures, the Parisian side have now recorded five wins and two draws alongside that defeat.
With the season still in its early stages, PSG's latest result gives them a narrow lead at the summit, while Lyon will look to respond in their next league fixture.
