Former Nigeria U-20 midfielder Quadri Liameed is recovering after suffering a frightening head injury during a Spanish Segunda League match between his club, CE Sabadell, and Albacete, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The midfielder reportedly lost consciousness for about 30 seconds after being struck on the head by an opponent's kick, causing serious concern during the encounter.
However, his father, Hajji Gafar, has confirmed that the player is now in stable condition and receiving medical attention.
Speaking about his son's recovery, Gafar said:
“My son is now in a stable condition and is expected to undergo a Buffalo Concussion Bike Test (BCBT) within the next 48 hours. The Spanish medical team attending to him gave me some encouraging news yesterday, and I am relieved and grateful.
“I also intend to travel to Spain within the next 10 days to personally see Quadri, spend some time with him and support him through this recovery process.”
