The end of 2026 is fast approaching, and that of course means it won’t be long until the transfer window re-opens, with Liverpool potentially having plenty of business to do.
The Reds have made an encouraging start under Andoni Iraola, but even the Spaniard will know there are some areas which could do with some improvements.
Returning sporting director Julian Ward could therefore find himself being kept busy once the January transfer window opens, with plenty of names being linked with a move to Anfield already. One of those may have just had the path cleared to Merseyside, while calls have reportedly been made for one of Germany’s rising stars.
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today.
Chelsea has moved on from its pursuit of Lamine Camara, opening the door for Liverpool to potentially get a free run at the midfielder, according to Football Insider.
The Blues were on the verge of securing the 22-year-old’s signing on deadline day during the summer, only for Monaco to pull the plug on the deal, leaving the Stamford Bridge club furious.
Instead of Camara, Chelsea is said to be prioritizing another reported Liverpool target in Alex Scott, and is planning on stepping up its interest in the Bournemouth star.
Get Liverpool's new 2026/27 home kit
Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.
Liverpool.com says: It feels like midfield will be one of the next priorities for Liverpool - although if Alexis Mac Allister ends up signing a new contract, that might change things slightly.
Regardless, the Reds could do with strengthening that area, especially if a true No.6 can be secured. Camara could fit the bill, and offer cover in other areas of the midfield.
Liverpool is among three Premier League clubs keeping a close eye on Bayern Munich wonderkid Lennart Karl, Christian Falk has told CF Bayern Insider.
The rumor comes after Bayern chief Uli Hoeness promised to have a private conversation with the 18-year-old about his off-field behavior, leading to suggestions he could end up leaving the club.
Bayern is said to want to keep Karl and continue developing him, but Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are all claimed to be circling.
It’s claimed that calls have already been made to see whether Bayern is not totally satisfied with the teenager, who has been valued at around $67 million (£60M).
