Manchester United’s crisis has deepened following a humiliating 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth, with head coach Michael Carrick facing mounting pressure as rival supporters revive a pre-season prediction video that has become a fresh source of ridicule for the struggling Premier League giants.

The heavy defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday, October 25, 2026, intensified questions about Carrick’s future, with United enduring a dismal run of results that has left supporters frustrated and uncertain about the club’s direction.

Speculation that United had decided to sack Carrick with immediate effect spread across social media after the Bournemouth defeat. However, the claims remained unconfirmed, with no official announcement indicating that the manager had been dismissed. Carrick was still in charge as of Sunday evening.

United’s struggles have included draws against Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham and Leeds United, alongside damaging defeats to Manchester City and other opponents across domestic and European competitions. The loss to Bournemouth has further intensified scrutiny of Carrick’s tactical decisions, team selection and ability to reverse the club’s fortunes.

While some fans have called for a change in the dugout, others believe the manager deserves an opportunity to address the team’s problems, particularly given the challenges associated with rebuilding a struggling squad.

However, the latest defeat has also handed Manchester United’s rivals fresh ammunition for online banter, with a pre-season prediction video from popular United fan channel Stretford Paddock going viral again.

The video, originally shared in June 2026, features host Jay confidently discussing United’s prospects across all 38 Premier League fixtures. His predictions included victories against major rivals, an impressive start to the campaign and an unbeaten run that could propel the club towards a record-breaking points tally.

Those bold expectations have now become a source of amusement for rival supporters as United struggle near the lower end of the table.

For rival fans, the video has provided another opportunity to celebrate United’s struggles. For the club’s supporters, however, its renewed popularity has served as a painful reminder of how quickly pre-season expectations can collapse when results fail to follow.

Although the video was intended as light-hearted fan content rather than an authoritative prediction, its timing has made it particularly damaging to the mood surrounding Old Trafford.

United’s current predicament also highlights the pressure facing Carrick as he attempts to restore confidence and deliver consistent results. The club’s position in the table leaves little room for further setbacks if it hopes to challenge for a respectable finish this season.

With supporters increasingly divided over the manager’s future, attention will now turn to United’s next fixtures and whether the team can produce the response needed to ease the pressure.
