Nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions Enyimba FC have announced a six-player shortlist for their Fans Player of the Month award for October.

The People’s Elephant revealed the nominees on Tuesday through their official X account.

Ifeanyi Ihemekwele, Richard Ezinwa, Obichere Odinaka, Hamisu Salisu, Idris Bonni and Emeka Onyema are in contention for the prize.

The players were recognised for their contributions to Emmanuel Deutsch’s team during October, a period in which Enyimba began to recover from a difficult start to the 2026/27 NPFL season.

Fans will choose the winner through the club’s social media platforms. The successful candidate is expected to be announced before Enyimba’s Matchday 10 fixture against Nasarawa United on October 25 in Lafia.

The latest shortlist is twice the size of last month’s nominations, when goalkeeper Dede Dare, Wonah Williams and Chibueze Damian were selected for the September award.

Wonah Williams went on to win that prize.

The announcement comes as Enyimba seek to build momentum in the current NPFL campaign. Their October nominees will now compete for supporters’ backing, with voting taking place online through the club’s social media channels.
