Barça coach Hansi Flick set a personal milestone with the 5-2 win away at Betis in La Liga on Saturday. The victory was the team's 11th in 11 matches this season in all competitions, nine in the league and two in the Champions League, the second time that the German boss has taken his side on such a run of success.
The first time that Hansi Flick racked up 11 wins in a row was last season between the months of November and January. Now, less than a year later he has repeated the feat, his team scoring 48 goals and conceding just 11 in the process.
The club record stands at 18 consecutive wins set by coach Frank Rijkaard between October 2005 and January 2006, 13 in the league, three in the Champions League and two in the Copa del Rey, scoring 54 goals and conceding just eight. The blaugranes need another seven wins to match that figure - it will not be easy but if anyone can do it, it is Hansi Flick's Barça.
Other Barça coaches who have recorded 11 straight wins are Luis Enrique (2014/15), Pep Guardiola (2008/09), Frank Platko (1955/56) and Ralph Kirby, Richard Dombi and Romà Forns (between 1925 and 1927).
In search of Frank Rijkaard's record, Hansi Flick faces a stern test in the team's next two matches as they come away from home against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and Real Madrid in La Liga at Spotify Camp Nou.
