Barcelona suffer double injury blow ahead of PSG, Madrid clashes

By Ademola Ogunleye

Barcelona will be without defenders Eric García and Jules Koundé for Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain after both players sustained injuries.

The club has ruled García out for three to four weeks, meaning he will miss both the PSG encounter and next weekend’s El Clásico against Real Madrid.

Koundé is also set to miss Tuesday’s trip to Paris after sustaining an injury, with the French defender expected to be assessed ahead of Barcelona’s El Clásico clash with Real Madrid on October 25.

The double setback raises defensive concerns ahead of a crucial week in their campaign, as the club faces two high-profile fixtures in quick succession.

Barcelona head into the PSG clash after a 5-2 La Liga win over Real Betis on Saturday.

The Catalan side will now assess their defensive options as they prepare for the trip to Paris before turning their attention to El Clásico.
