Racing Club 0-3 Real Madrid: Match review | La Liga
Racing Club 0-3 Real Madrid: Match review | La Liga

Real Madrid extend their unbeaten run with a comfortable away win over Racing Club.

Los Blancos were relentless and seemed to seal the match in the first half, thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Yan Diomande.

Yan Diomande is turning out to be the signing of the season

The youngster scored an absolute banger as he recorded his fourth goal of the season, making it 7 G/A in the last 6 games.

He was a menace on the left flank, troubling the full-backs and was finally rewarded when the ball fell for him from a corner, with Diomande volleying it home.

There is no doubt the Ivory Coast player will start in the next league fixture as well, but after that, Vinicius returns from suspension, and it shall be interesting to see what Jose Mourinho has up his sleeve.

Kylian Mbappe meanwhile earned and scored an easy penalty, and solidifies his place as the second-highest goal scorer in La Liga and overall 15th goal of the season.

As is the norm nowadays, Arda Guler threaded a sumptuous pass to Jude Bellingham, who put it in the back of the empty net. This goal also happened to be the Englishman’s 50th in Real Madrid colours.

The defence, on the other hand, barely put a foot wrong despite being troubled in the first 10-15 minutes of the second half. The defensive performance helped Thibaut Courtois also record a clean sheet upon his return.

Even though Racing Club were playing at home, it was always going to be tough for the newly promoted side to compete against a Real Madrid team in red-hot form since the international break.

Another away trip awaits Real Madrid, however, as Jose Mourinho’s men shall now travel to Greece and will face AEK Athens in matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League, with another unbeaten streak on the line.
