Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has claimed he didn't like it when Jeremy Jacquet went to ground during the clash between the center-back and Yehor Yarmolyuk, which resulted in the Brentford man being sent off.
The incident between the two came just before the half-time break, with the Bees already leading in the match through Keane Lewis-Potter. At a corner opportunity, Jacquet appeared to be engaged in a heated battle with Yarmolyuk, which resulted in the Brentford midfielder doing a headbutting motion towards the Liverpool ace.
The Liverpool defender went to ground, with the VAR suggesting that referee John Brooks should check the monitor, before he pulled out a red card for violent conduct.
It was a moment that changed the game, as Liverpool came out in the second half with an opportunity to turn the scoreline around in its favor.
Goals from Victor Munoz and Alexander Isak ultimately put the score right for the Reds, but the moment between Jacquet and Yarmolyuk still didn't sit right with Carragher.
Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, the former star said: "This is the key moment [the red card]. And listen, Keith Andrews was right, his player is daft.
"It is a red card but again, I don't care whether it's a Liverpool player, a Manchester United player, I just I don't like players doing it, going down. Now this has probably won Liverpool the game... I just don't like seeing it."
It certainly suggests that Carragher is consistent in his opinions, regardless of his club affiliations, though Liverpool won't necessarily care about that either way.
Jacquet's decision to go down ultimately turned the game on its head and helped earn three points, which the Reds will see as the main takeaway from the meeting.
Considering the harsh red card that was awarded to Ryan Gravenberch the week before against Manchester City, the sending off in west London may be that little bit of fortune that the Reds needed in the other direction.
It was a win that saw Iraola's side jump up to fifth in the league, ahead of a tough run of fixtures that include Brighton and Arsenal in the next two league games.
It remains to be seen how Liverpool will fare in such meetings, as the team can't rely on refereeing calls going its way, with performances still the core area for improvement.
Before a huge clash with Brighton, which Carragher has described as a "Jurgen Klopp-style" team, Liverpool faces Villarreal in the Champions League.
