Barcelona report PSG to UEFA over 'aggressive' Halloween tifo in Champions League showdown

According to a report by GOAL on Wednesday October 21, 2026, Barcelona have lodged a complaint with UEFA after Paris Saint-Germain supporters unveiled a controversial Halloween-themed tifo ahead of their Champions League clash at the Parc des Princes.

According to the report, the display featured a masked figure wielding a chainsaw to destroy Barcelona's club crest, accompanied by the message “Massacre, Parisian style”. The supporters also reportedly used pyrotechnics to create the impression of sparks coming from the chainsaw, adding to the intimidating atmosphere before kick-off.

The graphic display is said to have angered Barcelona's visiting delegation, prompting the Spanish giants to raise the matter with UEFA. However, it remains unclear whether European football's governing body will launch a formal investigation or take disciplinary action against PSG.

The incident added another layer of tension to an already heated European encounter between the two clubs. While football supporters often use provocative banners to unsettle their opponents, the imagery in this case has reportedly raised concerns within the Barcelona camp.

Despite the controversy in the stands, the match itself delivered plenty of drama. PSG claimed a 4-2 victory, ending Barcelona's reported 11-match winning streak and maintaining their perfect start to the Champions League campaign.

Désiré Doué opened the scoring for the French champions before Barcelona fought back through Xavi Espart and Lamine Yamal. However, late goals from Vitinha and Fabián Ruiz helped PSG secure all three points in front of their home supporters.

The encounter also proved costly in terms of injuries, with Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Marquinhos reportedly suffering problems for PSG. Barcelona were also dealt a blow when Dani Olmo was forced off during the opening stages.

Both teams now face important domestic fixtures, with Barcelona preparing for their Clasico showdown against Real Madrid and PSG set to take on Lyon.

For Barcelona, the immediate priority will be recovering from the defeat and preparing for another demanding test. Nevertheless, the reported complaint over the tifo could keep the controversy surrounding the Champions League encounter in the spotlight.
