According to a report by London Evening Standard on Monday November 2, 2026, Arsenal-bound teenager Victor Ozhianvuna has sent an emotional farewell message to Shamrock Rovers ahead of his January move to North London.
The midfielder will join the Gunners after turning 18, ending an 11-year spell with the Irish club.
Ozhianvuna joined Shamrock Rovers at six and has grown into one of Ireland's brightest young talents. He has made 37 senior appearances for the League of Ireland champions and became the second-youngest player to feature in the UEFA Conference League last year.
Arsenal agreed a deal for the Republic of Ireland Under-17 international in October 2025. The transfer is reportedly worth around £1.7 million and was described by Shamrock Rovers as a landmark move for Irish football. The teenager, who supported Arsenal as a boy, is expected to continue his development in their academy.
After a special presentation involving director of football Ronan Finn and youth coach Tony Cousins, Ozhianvuna shared a heartfelt message on Instagram. He thanked his coaches, teammates, family and supporters for their encouragement throughout his time at the club.
He also reflected on the memories and lessons he gained during his development. The midfielder admitted that the final months had been difficult because of an injury, but was pleased to end his spell by celebrating the league title in front of the fans.
Ozhianvuna has not played since May because of a back problem. Shamrock Rovers' season ended with a 3-1 defeat against Dundalk on Friday, after which they lifted the league trophy.
The youngster represented Ireland at the Under-17 World Cup in Qatar last year but will miss this month's tournament. He is now preparing for the next chapter of his career, with his Arsenal move expected to be completed in January.
