According to a report by FootballTransfers on Sunday, October 18, 2026, AC Milan are reportedly preparing to challenge Arsenal for the signature of Club Brugge striker Nicolò Tresoldi, with Ruben Amorim believed to be interested in bringing the forward to Italy next year.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Amorim wants Milan to consider signing the 22-year-old attacker following his impressive start to the season. Tresoldi has scored nine goals in 11 appearances across all competitions, attracting attention with his performances and strengthening his reputation as a promising attacking prospect.
Milan reportedly view the striker as a potential addition who could improve their offensive options and compete for a regular position alongside Gonçalo Ramos and young forward Francesco Camarda. His current form could make him an attractive option as the Italian club considers ways to strengthen its squad.
However, Arsenal are also monitoring the situation as they assess potential attacking reinforcements for the 2027 campaign. The Premier League side could intensify their interest if Viktor Gyökeres leaves the Emirates Stadium next summer.
Gyökeres, who joined Arsenal for €65.8 million last year, has reportedly lost his starting position to Kai Havertz. His reduced involvement has raised questions about his long-term future, particularly if he seeks more consistent playing time elsewhere.
Should Arsenal decide to part ways with the Swedish striker, manager Mikel Arteta could explore several alternatives. Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez is reportedly among the leading candidates, while Tresoldi and Bournemouth attacker Eli Junior Kroupi are also believed to feature on the club’s shortlist.
Nevertheless, Milan could have a significant advantage in the competition for Tresoldi because of his personal connection to the club. The striker has previously expressed admiration for AC Milan and spoken about his desire to experience playing at the famous San Siro stadium.
Before scoring a hat-trick against Inter Milan in the Champions League, Tresoldi described appearing at the venue as a dream and expressed his excitement about the opportunity. He has also revealed that he supports Milan, potentially strengthening the emotional connection between the player and the Italian side.
That attachment could influence his decision if both clubs make formal offers. Arsenal can present the appeal of competing regularly in the Premier League and European competitions, while Milan may benefit from the striker’s longstanding affection for the club.
For now, Tresoldi’s next destination remains uncertain, and no agreement has been announced. However, if Amorim convinces Milan to pursue the forward, Arsenal could face serious competition as both clubs consider strengthening their attacking departments ahead of next season.
