According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 31, 2026, West Ham United suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat against West Bromwich Albion in their Championship meeting.
West Ham went into the game hoping to make good use of their home advantage, but West Brom started with more confidence and took the lead in the 20th minute through Felix Horn Myhre. Jimmy-Jay Morgan provided the assist, setting up his teammate to put the visitors ahead and give them an early advantage.
The Hammers tried to respond and eventually found an equaliser in the 29th minute when Jarrod Bowen scored after receiving a pass from Mohamadou Kante. His goal brought West Ham back into the contest, but they were unable to build on that moment as both teams continued to look for another breakthrough before half-time.
West Brom came out stronger after the break and restored their lead just three minutes into the second half. Morgan, who had already provided an assist for the opening goal, got his name on the scoresheet in the 48th minute, with Felix Horn Myhre returning the favour by setting him up.
The visitors continued to put West Ham under pressure and eventually made the result more comfortable in the 72nd minute when Callum Styles scored their third goal. His effort gave West Brom a two-goal cushion, leaving the home side with a difficult task as the match entered its closing stages.
West Ham made changes in an attempt to turn things around, but they could not find another goal before the final whistle, which came after five minutes of added time.
The defeat sees West Ham United drop to eighth position on the Championship table with 22 points, while West Bromwich Albion climbed to fourth place with 24 points after an impressive away victory.
