"He doesn't know how to shoot" -Mbappe engages in heart-warming chat with kid hit by teammate's shot

According to a report by Madrid Universal on Monday November 2, 2026, Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe shared a heart-warming moment with a young supporter after the child was accidentally hit by a shot from midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni during their 3-0 victory over Racing Santander.

The incident happened early in the second half of Sunday's La Liga encounter when Tchouameni attempted an effort that went off target and flew into the stands, hitting the young boy in the face.

The child was left in tears following the incident, but Real Madrid made sure to attend to him after the final whistle.

The club invited the boy and his father into the stadium corridors, where Tchouameni personally apologised for the unfortunate incident and presented the young supporter with a signed shirt.

Mbappe also stopped to check on the child as he made his way past him. The France international asked whether he was alright before jokingly blaming his teammate for the incident.

"It's Tchouameni's fault. He doesn't know how to shoot," Mbappe said.

The comment brought some humour to the situation, with the boy appearing in good spirits as he shook hands with the Real Madrid forward and exchanged a high five with him.

The child's father later expressed his appreciation for the way the Spanish giants handled the situation, describing it as a minor scare.

Speaking to DAZN, in comments reported by RMC Sport, he said: "It was just a simple scare. The way Real Madrid treated us, with that little gesture, is really appreciated."

Meanwhile, Mbappe continued his impressive scoring form during the encounter, opening the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute.

Jude Bellingham and Yan Diomande added further goals before half-time to secure a comfortable 3-0 victory for Real Madrid.

The result extended Madrid's winning run to six consecutive matches in all competitions, although they remain third in the La Liga table, three points behind leaders Barcelona.

Mbappe's penalty also took his tally to 15 goals in 14 appearances this season, including 12 in the Spanish top flight. It was also his 101st goal for Real Madrid.

The French forward has been in outstanding form since the international break, registering six goals and one assist in five matches before the Racing Santander game.

His workload, however, could become a concern for manager Jose Mourinho. According to the report, Mbappe had played 1,161 of a possible 1,170 minutes before Sunday's encounter, making him the most heavily used outfield player in Europe's top five leagues.

Real Madrid will next face AEK Athens in the Champions League on Wednesday before travelling to Mestalla to take on Valencia in La Liga on Saturday.

It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will give Mbappe a rest for the European fixture, considering the number of minutes he has accumulated this season.
