Nine Players Set to Miss Arsenal’s Premier League Clash Against Hull City as Two Stars Are Banned

According to a report by Football London on November 5, 2026, nine players from Arsenal and Hull City are expected to miss Saturday's Premier League meeting at the Emirates Stadium, with two players unavailable through suspension.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal will welcome Hull City looking to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League table and secure their ninth victory in their opening 10 matches of the campaign.

However, the Gunners will have to manage their team selection carefully, with Bukayo Saka and Max Dowman expected to miss the encounter.

Saka remains unavailable because of injury, while 15-year-old Dowman will serve the second match of his three-game domestic suspension. Although the youngster was eligible to feature in Arsenal's Champions League victory over Slavia Prague on Wednesday, his suspension applies only to domestic competitions.

His ban will be completed following Arsenal's trip to Newcastle United after the international break.

There is more encouraging news for Arteta, with William Saliba returning to the matchday squad against Slavia Prague after recovering from injury. The French defender was named among the substitutes, providing a significant boost ahead of the weekend fixture.

Meanwhile, Hull City have a considerably longer absentee list, with seven players potentially unavailable for the trip to North London.

Jack Butland could return after spending the entire season so far on the sidelines through injury. The goalkeeper recently completed 90 minutes for Hull's Under-21 side in their 1-0 victory over Derby County.

However, Konstantinos Tzolakis has impressed since becoming the club's first-choice goalkeeper, meaning Butland could struggle to immediately reclaim his starting position.

Hull will also be without long-term absentees Eliot Matazo and Matt Targett, while Matt Crooks is suspended after collecting five yellow cards in his first six Premier League appearances.

Additionally, Charlie Hughes and Darko Gyabi are expected to miss the match because of groin problems. Ilyas Ansah is struggling with a back issue, while Lucas Gourna-Douath has a calf injury.

Their availability will depend on their recovery before Saturday's encounter, although late returns cannot be completely ruled out.

Arteta is expected to provide a further update on his squad during Friday's press conference.
