Barcelona Summer Signing's Record vs Real Madrid Offers Club a Clasico Advantage

Gabriel Jesus could give Barcelona an attacking boost when they face Real Madrid in Sunday's El Clasico, having enjoyed good results against the Spanish side during his time at Manchester City.

According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday, October 22, 2026, the Brazilian forward's previous performances against Madrid could make him a useful option for Hansi Flick at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Jesus faced Real Madrid four times in the Champions League while playing for Manchester City. He won three of those matches and lost one, scoring three goals and providing one assist against Los Blancos.

One of his notable performances came in February 2020 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Playing on the left wing under Pep Guardiola, Jesus scored City's equaliser in their 2-1 victory over Madrid.

He also played a key role in the return leg. The Brazilian took the ball from Raphael Varane to set up Raheem Sterling's opening goal before scoring himself as City secured another victory.

Jesus found the net again against Madrid in the first leg of the 2021-22 Champions League semi-final. City won that match 4-3, but Real Madrid came back in the second leg to knock the English side out of the competition.

The forward has also made a promising start to his Barcelona career this season. He has scored four goals in seven appearances, playing a total of 234 minutes.

His goal-scoring record could make him an option for Flick against Madrid. Jesus can also contribute through his pressing, movement and ability to play in wide areas, which could cause problems for the opposition's defence.

Barcelona have other attacking players available, but Jesus could offer another option if he comes on as a substitute. His previous success against Madrid may also help him approach the game with confidence.

However, his record against Los Blancos does not guarantee another strong performance. Flick will have to decide whether to give the Brazilian an opportunity to make an impact in Sunday's El Clasico.
