According to a report by FootballTransfers, on Monday October 19, 2026, Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on Estevão Willian as the Chelsea winger struggles to secure regular minutes this season.
The Brazilian made a strong impression in his first campaign at Stamford Bridge, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. But after making two starts in the League Cup, he has played just 29 minutes in the Premier League under manager Xabi Alonso.
His opportunities have been limited by the form of Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and João Pedro. BBC Sport reports that Estevão has not fallen out with Alonso, while Spanish outlet SPORT says Barcelona are monitoring his situation.
Former Chelsea winger and BBC pundit Pat Nevin remains impressed by the teenager’s talent, but doubts his future lies in west London.
“When he arrived at Chelsea and played a couple of games, I thought, what a fantastic, brilliant player,” Nevin told GOAL. “He’ll be a great player, but probably not for Chelsea.”
Estevão could get another chance to feature when Chelsea face Liverpool in the League Cup on 28 October. Before then, they host Tottenham in the Premier League.
Chelsea’s 2–0 win over Everton brought their first clean sheet in nine months, but goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez was injured in a collision with Jarrad Branthwaite.
He underwent surgery for a fractured jaw and says he hopes to return within a few weeks.
