According to a report by The Daily Post on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has won his first El Clasico since returning to the club for a second spell, after his side beat Barcelona 2-1 at the Camp Nou on Sunday night.
Los Blancos travelled to the game knowing that a defeat would all but rule them out of the title race, and the pressure was clear. Mourinho's men, however, were the ones who took the lead, with the ball deflecting into the net off Kylian Mbappe.
Barcelona responded and drew level in the 61st minute through Raphinha, making it 1-1 and leaving the contest wide open for both teams in the closing stages.
With the game seemingly heading towards a draw, Mbappe had the final say. His second goal of the night came in the 87th minute and won the match for Madrid, sending the visitors home with all three points.
The result is a big lift for Madrid, who needed a win to stay in the title race. For Mourinho, it is a milestone moment, as it is the first time he has beaten Barcelona in El Clasico since taking charge again.
Despite the defeat, Barcelona remain at the top of the LaLiga table with 27 points. However, the loss is their first, and it brings an end to their unbeaten run.
Madrid move to third place with 24 points, three points behind the leaders, and will now feel they are firmly back in the title chase.
The win will also give Madrid fresh confidence heading into their next fixtures, while Barcelona will be looking to bounce back from their first setback in the league.
