Four Talking Points From Saturday’s Premier League Action

According to a report by the Premier League’s official website on October 24, 2026, Saturday’s Premier League matches produced several talking points across England.

One of the biggest talking points is Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Everton 2-0. Ezri Konsa opened the scoring from a Martin Ødegaard corner, ending the Gunners’ 13-match wait for a set-piece goal. Later in the game, Gabriel Magalhães added the second in his 200th appearance for the club. Meanwhile, David Raya helped Arsenal record a second consecutive Premier League clean sheet.

The victory became more significant after Manchester City lost 2-1 to Aston Villa at Villa Park. Interestingly, former Chelsea striker, Nicolas Jackson scored twice for Unai Emery’s side, handing City their first league defeat of the campaign. Meanwhile, Erling Haaland scored for the seventh consecutive Premier League match, matching his previous best scoring streak. However, his effort could not prevent the defeat. The result allowed Arsenal to draw level with City on points.

While Arsenal benefited from City’s setback, Tottenham Hotspur also recorded an important victory by defeating Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders conceded an own goal following a corner before Mathys Tel sealed the win with a late solo effort. Chelsea’s afternoon became more difficult when Cole Palmer was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

Elsewhere, Fulham continued their positive run by defeating Coventry City 1-0 away from home. Oscar Bobb scored the decisive goal late in the match, giving Fulham consecutive Premier League victories. Coventry, meanwhile, continued to struggle in front of goal.

With Arsenal capitalising on City’s defeat, the title race has become more competitive. Meanwhile, Tottenham and Fulham will hope their latest victories provide momentum for the matches ahead.
