Arsenal have reportedly been told that selling Gabriel Jesus to Barcelona has proved to be an excellent piece of business for the Spanish club, following the Brazilian striker’s impressive start at Camp Nou.
According to a report by FootballTransfers on Sunday, October 18, 2026, Jesus has quickly made an impact in Spain after completing a €10 million (£8.4 million) move from Arsenal in September, bringing his four-year spell at the Emirates Stadium to an end.
Barcelona had spent much of the summer exploring several attacking options before eventually turning to Jesus after missing out on some of their preferred targets. The Brazilian was considered a more affordable alternative, particularly after losing his regular starting position under Mikel Arteta.
However, his early performances have suggested that Barcelona may have secured a valuable addition at a relatively modest price. Jesus has scored four goals in seven appearances across competitions this season, quickly establishing himself as an important attacking option for the Catalan giants.
Radio Marca journalist Fran Gonzalez has praised the signing, highlighting the forward’s growing influence since arriving in Spain. His comments were published by SPORT.
“I think Gabriel Jesus’s numbers are becoming quite serious — and I’m not joking,” Gonzalez said.
The journalist also compared Jesus’ league scoring record with that of Real Madrid’s attacking players, noting that the former Arsenal forward had scored more league goals than Vinicius Junior at that stage of the campaign.
“He has more league goals than Vinicius Junior. The only Real Madrid player who has scored more than him is Mbappe with seven,” Gonzalez explained.
“We’re talking about a great success and a very good signing,” he added.
Jesus will now aim to continue his impressive form when Barcelona face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday. The encounter will provide another opportunity for the Brazilian to demonstrate his value against elite European opposition.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have reportedly won all 11 of their matches across La Liga and European competition this season, underlining their strong start under Hansi Flick.
Arsenal have also enjoyed a positive campaign, recording 10 victories from their opening 11 matches, including consecutive Premier League wins over Leeds United and Nottingham Forest.
While Jesus’ early success at Barcelona does not necessarily mean Arsenal made the wrong decision to sell him, his performances have given the Spanish club reason to be pleased with the transfer. If he maintains his current scoring form, the €10 million signing could prove to be one of Barcelona’s most effective pieces of business this season.
