According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 18, 2026, Real Madrid secured a crucial 4-1 victory in their LaLiga match against Sevilla.
Real Madrid started the game with confidence and took the lead in the 30th minute when Arda Guler scored with a fine left-footed effort from outside the box, with Yan Diomande providing the assist. Kylian Mbappe doubled the advantage seven minutes later after receiving a pass from Jude Bellingham, giving the home side control before the half-time break.
Sevilla tried to respond after the restart, but Madrid continued to create chances and put pressure on their opponents. Mbappe extended the lead in the 63rd minute by converting a penalty after being fouled inside the box, making it difficult for Sevilla to recover from the setback.
The visitors refused to give up and pulled one goal back in the 80th minute through Manu Bueno, who finished after receiving an assist from Lucas Stassin. However, Madrid quickly restored their three-goal advantage when Yan Diomande scored from outside the box in the 82nd minute, with Aurelien Tchouameni providing the assist.
Real Madrid controlled much of the match and finished with 65 per cent possession, showing their ability to dictate the pace of the game while creating enough chances to secure a convincing win. Sevilla struggled to contain the home side's attacking threat, especially after conceding the penalty.
With the three points, Jose Mourinho's team moved to third position on the LaLiga table and are now just six points below leaders Barcelona, while Sevilla slipped to sixth position following their defeat.
