Manchester United Boss Confirms Striker out for Months Due to injury

According to Fabrizio Romano on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that Benjamin Šeško is expected to be out for an extended period following an injury, dealing a major blow to the club's attacking options.

Carrick revealed that the club is still waiting to establish exactly how long the striker will be unavailable. However, his comments suggest that Šeško faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, leaving Manchester United concerned about their options in attack.

Speaking about the situation, Carrick said, “Unfortunately, Ben looks like he's going to be out for a period of time.”

He added, “We're still not clear of exactly how long, but it's going to be for a longer period of time.”

The manager's update is disappointing news for Manchester United, who will now have to prepare for upcoming matches without one of their attacking options. Although the exact recovery period has not been confirmed, the club will be hoping that the striker receives the necessary treatment and makes a full recovery.

Šeško's absence could force Carrick to reconsider his attacking plans. The Slovenian international offers physical strength, aerial ability and a presence inside the penalty area. His ability to hold up the ball and create opportunities for teammates can also help United when they face teams that defend deep.

Without him, the manager may need to rely on other available forwards to provide the goals and attacking movement required to compete in the coming weeks.

The injury could also create opportunities for other players to take on greater responsibilities. However, replacing Šeško's qualities will not be easy, particularly if his absence lasts longer than initially expected.

Manchester United will need to manage the situation carefully while ensuring that the remaining attacking players are ready to handle the demands of a busy schedule. The club's medical team will continue to assess Šeško's condition before providing a clearer picture of his recovery.

For the supporters, Carrick's announcement is a worrying development, especially as the team looks to maintain consistency and secure important results throughout the season.

At this stage, no exact return date has been confirmed by the manager. United fans will therefore have to wait for further updates before knowing when Šeško could return to action.

The priority for the club will be to support the striker during his recovery and avoid rushing him back before he is fully fit. His return will be eagerly anticipated as Manchester United look to strengthen their attacking threat for the remainder of the campaign.
