WSL Table After Chelsea Extended Their Dominance, Man City Won And Arsenal Failed To Secure Victory

According to a report by BBC Sport on Monday, November 2, 2026, Chelsea maintained their impressive form in the Women’s Super League with a commanding 6-0 win over Charlton Athletic, keeping them at the summit of the league standings.

The Blues produced a dominant attacking display, scoring four goals in the opening 19 minutes before adding two more in the second half to secure an emphatic victory.

The result means Chelsea have collected 22 points from their first eight matches and remain unbeaten in the league this season.

Manchester City also continued their pursuit of the leaders after recording a hard-fought 2-1 victory away against London City Lionesses.

Khadija Shaw opened the scoring for City before Jana Fernandez restored parity for the home side. However, Lauren Hemp scored the winning goal to secure all three points for the visitors.

The victory takes Manchester City to 22 points from eight games, level with Chelsea. However, the Blues remain top of the table because of their superior goal difference of +23, compared to City's +12.

Meanwhile, Arsenal suffered another setback after playing out a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa, dropping two important points in the title race.

Chasity Grant gave Villa the lead, putting Arsenal under pressure to find an equaliser. Alessia Russo eventually rescued a point for the Gunners with an 85th-minute goal.

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur climbed to fourth place after securing an impressive 4-1 victory over Birmingham City. Brighton also claimed a 2-1 win against Crystal Palace, while West Ham United delivered a strong performance to defeat Liverpool 4-1.

Following the latest fixtures, Chelsea remain top of the standings with 22 points, while Manchester City occupy second place with the same number of points.

Tottenham are positioned fourth, with Manchester United sitting fifth on 12 points. Arsenal, meanwhile, are down in seventh place with 10 points following their disappointing draw against Aston Villa.

At the other end of the table, Charlton Athletic are struggling badly, having lost all eight of their opening matches and remaining bottom in 14th place without a single point.

With Chelsea and Manchester City continuing to produce impressive results, the competition for the WSL title is becoming increasingly intense. Arsenal, however, must improve their consistency and start collecting more points if they hope to challenge the leading teams as the campaign progresses.
