CHE Vs MNU: Chelsea Confirmed Starting Lineup for Premier League Clash

According to a report by London Evening Standard on Saturday October 31, 2026, Chelsea have handed Brazilian youngster Estevao a surprise starting role for their Premier League meeting with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, while Cole Palmer returns to the team after serving a suspension.

Manager Xabi Alonso has made several changes as the Blues look to respond to their disappointing midweek Carabao Cup exit against Liverpool.

Palmer missed Wednesday's encounter at Anfield after receiving a one-match ban for his late red card in Chelsea's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham. His return provides an important boost to the team's attacking options ahead of Saturday's contest.

However, Chelsea remain without several key players due to injuries. Maxence Lacroix is among the latest casualties after suffering a hamstring problem during the defeat to Liverpool. Alonso confirmed that the defender is expected to remain unavailable until after the November international break, although further reports suggest his recovery could take longer.

Reece James is another major absentee, with the club captain expected to miss matches until January following knee surgery. Striker Joao Pedro is also unavailable because of a thigh injury and is expected to spend several weeks on the sidelines.

There is some encouraging news regarding Malo Gusto and Moises Caicedo. Both players are fit to feature against Manchester United despite experiencing discomfort during the Liverpool match. Pep Chavarria has also returned to the matchday squad and is available from the bench.

Goalkeeper Emi Martinez is making progress in his recovery from a broken jaw. The Argentina international has consulted a specialist about wearing a protective face mask, with Alonso admitting that an earlier return before the international break remains possible.

Jamie Gittens continues to recover from an ankle injury sustained while representing England Under-21s. Jorrel Hato is also unavailable, leaving Alonso with several selection challenges.

Chelsea Confirmed Starting Lineup:

Penders; Acheampong, Colwill, Fofana; Neto, Caicedo, Lavia, Palestra; Palmer, Estevao; Rogers.
