Ballon D'Or 2027: Raphinha speaks on winning next award

According to a report by Daily Post on Friday November 6, 2026, Barcelona captain Raphinha has spoken about the possibility of winning the 2027 Ballon d'Or, insisting that his priority remains helping the Catalan club achieve success rather than pursuing individual awards.

The Brazilian forward made it clear that he would continue to put Barcelona's interests first despite his impressive performances and growing recognition in European football.

Raphinha was asked about the possibility of winning the prestigious individual award in 2027 but explained that personal honours have never been his main motivation.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Barcelona captain said: “I will do my best for the club, not for individual awards. I have always put the interests of the club I play for first."

His comments suggest that the former Leeds United star is more concerned about helping Barcelona win trophies than adding individual recognition to his career achievements.

Raphinha has been one of Barcelona's most influential players this season, producing impressive performances in front of goal and contributing significantly to the team's attacking play.

The Brazilian has scored 19 goals and provided three assists across all competitions, making him one of the standout performers in Hansi Flick's squad.

His impressive statistics have strengthened discussions about his chances of competing for the next Ballon d'Or, particularly if he maintains his current form and helps Barcelona win major trophies.

The 29-year-old has also demonstrated his importance as a leader since taking on the captaincy responsibilities at the Catalan club.

His work rate, attacking contributions and commitment have made him an important figure in Flick's team.

Raphinha's attitude towards individual recognition also reflects his determination to put collective achievements ahead of personal success.

The Ballon d'Or is widely regarded as one of the biggest individual honours in football, with players often judged by their performances, statistics and achievements throughout the season.

However, Raphinha appears unwilling to allow the possibility of winning the award to distract him from his responsibilities at Barcelona.

The Brazilian will now turn his attention to Barcelona's upcoming LaLiga encounter against Atletico Madrid this weekend.

He will hope to inspire his teammates to victory as the Catalan giants continue their pursuit of domestic success.

A strong performance against Atletico Madrid could further strengthen Raphinha's growing reputation, although the forward has made it clear that his main objective is to help Barcelona rather than chase individual accolades.
