According to a report by London Evening Standard on Monday October 26, 2026, Harry Kane and Alexia Putellas were among the major winners at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony held on Monday. Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka also received the Socrates Award for his humanitarian work.

Kane won his first Ballon d’Or, finishing ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal. The Bayern Munich and England striker became the first Englishman to win the award since Michael Owen in 2001. He scored 73 goals for club and country across all competitions last season.

Putellas claimed the women’s Ballon d’Or for the third time. The midfielder, who now plays for London City Lionesses, earned the award after a successful season with Barcelona before leaving the Spanish club. She recorded 26 goals and 15 assists in 53 appearances and helped Barcelona win five trophies.

Kane also shared the Gerd Muller Trophy with Mexican striker Charlyn Corral, with both players recognised for their goalscoring records. Barcelona received the Women’s Club of the Year award, while Paris Saint-Germain won the Men’s Club of the Year prize.

However, most PSG players were absent from the ceremony because their Ligue 1 match against Lyon had been rescheduled for the same evening.

Barcelona goalkeeper Cata Coll won the Women’s Yashin Trophy, while Spain international Unai Simon received the men’s award after helping his country win the World Cup.

Yamal retained his Kopa Trophy, becoming the first player to win it three times in a row. His Barcelona teammate Vicky Lopez took home the women’s Kopa Trophy.

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente won the Men’s Coach of the Year award, while Barcelona women’s manager Pere Romeu received the Women’s Coach of the Year prize.

Saka completed the list of notable winners after receiving the Socrates Award in recognition of his humanitarian contributions outside football.
